Why did you choose this song?
I chose "SloMo" by Chanel because it resonates deeply with my cultural background. Being of Mexican descent, I feel a magnetic pull towards the infectious rhythms and vibrant energy of Latino music. Whenever I hear the pulsating beats of Ritmo, it's as if my Latino heritage is calling out to me, stirring something within me that's both exhilarating and comforting.
What does it mean to you?
"SloMo" holds a special place in my heart because it's more than just a song; it's an embodiment of joy, celebration, and self-expression. The lyrics are playful and easygoing, but it's the dance that truly captivates me. Dancing isn't just a form of entertainment; it's a language of its own—a universal means of communication that allows me to express myself freely and authentically. This song gives me the opportunity to tap into that inner rhythm and let go of inhibitions, embracing the sheer delight of movement and music.
What did you feel when you were nominated by your fan club to represent the club at FANvision?
The moment I received the nomination from OGAE Slovenia to represent our fan club at FANvision, I was overwhelmed with a sense of honor and pride. Having been a dedicated participant in Gradevizija for the past five years, Eurovision has become more than just an event to me; it's a passion, a community, and a shared love for music and culture. To be chosen as the ambassador for OGAE Slovenia fills me with immense gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility to represent our club with enthusiasm and dedication.
Are you excited about coming to Hamburg? Have you ever been in Hamburg/Germany?
Absolutely, I'm beyond excited about coming to Hamburg! It's a city that holds a special place in my heart—a perfect blend of history, culture, and vibrant energy nestled by the sea. My first visit to Hamburg, five years ago, was nothing short of magical. I was captivated by its picturesque landscapes, charming neighborhoods, and warm hospitality. Returning to this city feels like a homecoming of sorts, and I can't wait to immerse myself in its beauty once again.
What do you wish for your stay in Hamburg?
During my stay in Hamburg, I'm looking forward to embracing every moment with open arms and an adventurous spirit. More than anything, I'm excited to share this experience with good friends and fellow Eurovision enthusiasts, creating unforgettable memories together. What are your personal interests?
Beyond my love for Eurovision, I'm deeply passionate about the arts and cultural exchange. As a dancer, I find solace and inspiration in movement, using it as a medium to express emotions, tell stories, and connect with others on a profound level. Additionally, my background in fashion and costume design allows me to channel my creativity into tangible forms of expression, blending aesthetics with functionality to create unique and captivating designs.
What’s your connection to the Eurovision Song Contest?
My journey with the Eurovision Song Contest began at a young age, and it has since become an integral part of my life. From the moment I first witnessed the spectacle on television, I was enamored by its magic—the electrifying performances, amazing stage production, and the spirit of unity and diversity that permeates every aspect of the event. My first live experience at Eurovision, in Vienna in 2015, left an indelible mark on me, igniting a passion that continues to burn brightly to this day.
Is FANvision the biggest stage/audience so far for you? What are your musical experiences, and what are your plans for the future?
While FANvision presents a thrilling opportunity to showcase my talents on a larger stage, my musical journey extends far beyond this moment. With a background in dance and a deep-seated love for the performing arts, I've had the privilege of honing my skills and sharing my passion with audiences across various platforms—from theater productions to dance competitions. Looking ahead, I aspire to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity, embracing new opportunities for artistic expression, and inspiring others to find joy and fulfillment through music and movement.
What do you do in your life apart from being a Eurovision fan?
In addition to being an ardent Eurovision fan, I lead a multifaceted life centered around creativity and self-expression. As a fashion and costume designer, I have the privilege of bringing imagination to life through fabric, color, and form. Whether designing bespoke garments for clients or conceptualizing avant-garde runway collections, I find fulfillment in pushing the boundaries of design and creating pieces that resonate with people on a personal level.
What’s your favorite Eurovision song of all time?
Choosing a favorite Eurovision song is no easy task, as each entry holds its own special place in my heart. However, if I were to pinpoint a defining moment in my Eurovision journey, it would undoubtedly be my first live experience in Vienna. The sheer spectacle of the event, combined with the palpable energy of the crowd, left an indelible impression on me—one that continues to inspire and enchant me to this day. It's not just a song or a performance; it's a memory etched in time, forever cherished as the embodiment of Eurovision's magic and allure.

Meet Jan, an “early bird” in the Eurovision Weekend
Despite the fact, that OGAE Slovenia debuts in FANvision this year, the Slovene Head of Delegation has experienced the Eurovision Weekend and their contests in many ways already: Being a contestant himself in the predecessor contest of FANvision, the Fans-Sing-For-Fans-Contest in 2015 and 2016, he also stepped in as the HoD of the Italian delegation last year and awarded points as their Jury. Obviously he liked his position, as after the Eurovision Weekend in Prague, he quickly reached to the Slovene fan club, organised that their Gradevizija winner 2023 was asked to represent OGAE Slovenia in FANvision 2024 and then even got elected as the president of OGAE Slovenia earlier this year. What a journey already, where will it take him next year? Being a Eurovision podcaster and radio host in Slovenia, will we see him as the host of FANvision 2025 in Slovenia?

How did your club find your representative?
Joel Loyo was crowned as the winner of Gradevizija 2023*, an annual event celebrating Eurovision in Slovenia for over 25 years.
Does your club bring a lot of supporters for your act?
OGAE Slovenija is fully supporting our contestant Joel Loyo, who's performing at Eurovision Weekend 2024 in Hamburg, Germany, this July. Several members attended last year's event in Prague, and we anticipate a strong presence in Hamburg as OGAE Slovenija officially participates for the first time this year.
What do you wish for your contestant?
As someone who has stood on the Eurovision Weekend stage several times, I simply wish Joel to enjoy the entire experience as I have. The joy of being part of Eurovision world is truly unparalleled.
Your club is in the race for winning FANvision; what's outstanding about your club?
OGAE Slovenija is eager to host Eurovision Weekend in our beautiful country, Slovenia, known as the green treasure of Central Europe. With growing interest in Eurovision and an expanding membership base in OGAE, Slovenia offers a unique and accessible destination. With Joel representing Slovenia, we hope to bring Eurovision Weekend to Slovenia for the first time.
What's your favorite Eurovision song of all time?
While there are many, I'd choose Kejsi Tola's "Carry Me in Your Dreams" (Albania 2009) as it always uplifts my spirits. Conchita's "Rise Like a Phoenix" also holds a special place in my heart as the winner of the first Eurovision I attended in person.
What do you appreciate in particular in a performance in FANvision? What would you want to see on stage, and what might convince you to give a high vote?
In considering what performance I would enjoy and award points to, I prioritize authenticity and originality. A captivating performance that resonates with genuine emotion and creativity would undoubtedly catch my attention. I appreciate performances that demonstrate skill and mastery of the craft, whether it's in vocals, instrumental proficiency, or stage presence. Furthermore, I tend to gravitate towards acts that offer a unique twist or perspective, something that sets them apart from the rest. Ultimately, I seek performances that leave a lasting impression, stirring something within me and compelling me to acknowledge their excellence with high points.
*About Gradevizija:
Gradevizija is a musical festival run by OGAE Slovenia that combines music, singing, performance, courage, good spirits, and lots of laughter. Originating in 1997 in Dejan's kitchen, it began with a desire to sing in front of an audience, evolving into a larger event organizing and performing for an initial audience of four, doubling as judges. As its popularity grew, Gradevizija moved to larger venues, eventually settling in the Cultural Center of Črnuče. Over the years, it has maintained a five-member jury, enthusiastic audiences, and a platform for performers, embodying passion, heart, and positive energy. Numerous musicians, cultural figures, and media personalities have participated as judges, reflecting Gradevizija's influence in the public eye.

Actually, originally I chose another song, "Someday" by Hera Björk, which I was gonna sing in the contest of OGAE Germany, Cover Song Contest. I was gonna sing it with my friend Annette, but sadly, she broke her leg just a few days before we were going to Munich for the contest. I felt that "Someday" was our song to sing together, so instead I chose "Drama Queen", which is a song that I had been performing before in a Eurovision show, that I did together with some other singers. I have seen DQ perform it a lot of times - so it is a big honour for me to sing it in a contest myself now.
What did you feel when you were nominated by your Fanclub to represent at FANvision?
I won Cover Song Contest in January, and it was a special honour for me. Even though I have participated in FANVision Song Contest several times for Denmark, this is actually my first time earning my spot by winning a contest. In Denmark, I have been chosen internally each time - which has been great as well - but I feel that I have deserved it at another level this time.
Are you excited about coming to Hamburg?
Yes. I live in Copenhagen, and even though Hamburg is the nearest large German city from Copenhagen, I have only been there once, and only for a few hours - so I'm excited about seeing this city, which I have heard is very fun and interesting.
EUROVISION! That's the short answer. Also, I love acting and singing. I also enjoy watching documentaries, and I feel that it's a good way to learn new things. In my professional life, I am a teacher, so generally, I like to keep myself informed about the world around me.
What is your personal connection to the Eurovision Song Contest? Maybe you want to share your first Eurovision memory with us?
I have a very strong connection to Eurovision. Besides that I love to watch it and listen to the music, it's a very social thing for me as well. I've met a lot of my best friends through Eurovision, and it's a special feeling for me, that I know so many great persons from all over the world, especially Sweden and Germany, besides Denmark, of course. Also, I'm doing reaction videos for Youtube, called "Panelet bedømmer", with two other danish guys, so Eurovision really is a big deal for me.

FANvision 2024 - OGAE Finland
Meet the representative of OGAE Finland:
Jarkko is no stranger to FANvision. He represented OGAE Finland before and even won the contest back in 2021 with the Finnish version of “Rise Like A Phoenix” called “Saan voiman uuden”.
This year Jarkko will try his luck once more and will represent OGAE Finland. Back in December he won the preselection at the Christmas Party of OGAE Finland, where he sang “We Should Be Through“ by Mikael Saari. Mikael was competing with this song in the Finnish Preselection UMK in 2013, but missed out on winning the ticket to Eurovision.

Why did your choose this song, what does it mean to you!
Back in 2013 I was living in Lahti as a newly graduated radiographer. Back then I had only trained my voice all by myself, mostly at home and I realized that I need some assistance to improve my vocal abilities and to become a better singer. I contacted a male vocal coach who was a classical/opera style vocalist. I had multiple lessons with him and one time he told that he would be attending UMK with a guy named Mikael Saari whose vocal coach he also was. So my vocal coach would play cello alongside Mikael in the UMK final performance! I thought how cool is that! Once I heard the song ”We Should Be Through” it instantly resonated in my body in a very emotional way. It feels like if the song was written from the past events of my own life and that is why it feels so personal and I get very emotional every time even when I only rehearse it. Watching UMK 2013 I thought that someday I want to know how to sing that ballad in a way Mikael does. Mikael has a great voice and I’ve always wanted to sing like him. I was not able to do that in many years but last November I finally felt confident and I performed the song live for the first time in the Finnish OGAE pre-Christmas party. And here I am now.
What did you feel when you were nominated by your Fanclub to represent at FANvision?
I thought that it is a privilege to get to do this again. The Eurovision fan audience has always been and always will be the best audience for me. I’m really excited to get to perform this song again in Hamburg.
What are your personal interests?
I love karaoke and singing of course and that is my hobby number one. I also love to do sports and nowadays I go to Crossfit classes every week.
What is your personal connection to the Eurovision Song Contest? Maybe you want to share your first Eurovision memory with us?
My first memory of Eurovision is when CatCat competed with ’Bye Bye Baby’ in Eurovision 1994. I was only five years old. I also remember ’Love Shine a Light’ and ’Diva’ from 1997 and 1998. When I was growing up I always watched Eurovision with my mom and in 2006 I wanted to even come home from a party with my friends to watch the Eurovision results with my family. My mom had always told me that someday if Finland wins Eurovision, they would play ’Porilaisten marssi (March of the Björneborgers)’ after the show which is traditionally played after huge Finnish achievements. And they played it right after the show just as my mom had predicted! I´m not a nationalist but back then I was really honoured to be Finnish.
What do you do apart from being a Eurovision Fan?
I live together with my fiancé and two cats. And I am still a radiographer/X-ray therapist and I work in a hospital emergency unit.
What’s your favourite Eurovision song of all time?
I Can I mention three? Doris Dragović - Marija Magdalena, Pastora Soler – Quédate Conmigo and of course Conchita Wurst – Rise Like a Phoenix. I really like big ballads with strong vocals. Of course I love some goofier stuff too, such as Dancing Lasha Tumbai from Verka Serduchka. Oh well that was four combined.

Head of Delegation:
Meet Heljä, a long time Eurovision Fan from Finland. She’s been following Eurovision since 1975, with only one show back then. She used to sing in a choir in her teens and is still using her voice when listening to Eurovision songs - but now in the audience. Being a Eurovision Fan and travelling to see ESC live events has created many new friendships for her and she appreciates to meet each other in different cities every May.

How did your club find your representative?
We have an annual Show Contest in OGAE Finland's Xmas party and the winner receives the privilege to represent Finland in the FANvision contest. Last time we had 9 competing acts.

I wish, the more - the merrier!

As I know his performance is very emotional I hope those emotions will be reflected to the audience too!
Your club is in the race for winning FANvision, what’s outstanding about your club?
OGAE Finland is the oldest and one of the largest clubs for Eurovision Fans. We are a club with members from whole families. We have been organising the Eurovision Cruise in August since 2010, meet for preview parties, summer picnics and certainly the annual Xmas party, where fans all over Finland com together.
What’s your favourite Eurovision song of all time?
Spain 1990 Bandido and Iceland 2007 Valentine Lost are my favourites. Recently I have been listening to Cha Cha Cha a lot!
What do you appreciate in particular in a performance in FANvision ? What would you want to see on stage and what might convince you to give a high vote?
The ability to make me feel something special - sadness or joy, it does not really matter - is more important than the pitch perfect vocal capability. I have to be able to connect to the emotion that the performer expresses on stage.

Why did your choose this song, what does it mean to you?
I really love singing about personal feelings to be as authentic as I can be.....this song means a lot to me- It gave me all the power and energy to overcome a big conflict in a friendship - so I can express all my feelings and anger about this situation....Same Heart has that intense energy and I love that!!!!
What did you feel when you were nominated by your Fanclub to represent at FANvision?
As I was so happy to have been able to represent Germany in 2023 (which I didn't expect at all) - I really had a big goal to be able to represent Austria in 2024 - when I heard I got first in my own fanclub, the first I thought was "yeeeeesssss"- my dreams came true!!!!!
Are you excited about coming to Hamburg?
I have never been in Hamburg before....my husband has been there in 2009 to watch a football game, but at this time I was in hospital in Vienna and very ill...as I heard it will be taking place in Hamburg, I thought "oh wow, we can turn this around to a positive memory".
I just expect to have a great time there with my friends and family, much fun and love!!!!
What are your personal interests?
I really love my job being a hairdresser, I love talking with people, dancing, having fun. I like reading books about psychological or philosophical stories, I love music, especially Eurovision but also languages and music from different cultures, like the balkan music!
What is your personal connection to the Eurovision Song Contest? Maybe you want to share your first Eurovision memory with us?
I think that includes many of what I said before - different languages, different styles of music. I think it*s the idea of packing so many variabilities in one show what makes it so special - I get bored very soon, but Eurovision never bored me in all the 42 years I have watched it:-) By the way, my first memory was "Ein bißchen Frieden" by Nicole, I was 9 years old when I heard it and I think the most impressive fact was that young girl singing in so many different languages when she had won!!!!
Is FANvision the biggest stage/ audience so far for you, what are your musical experiences, and what are your plans for the future?
Yes, the FANvision is the biggest stage for me....I am not a professional singer, I just do that for fun....and my life in my hairdressing Salon would also not give time for more singing....but I really enjoy expressing on stage and make people happy....so if there would be a new chance for FANvision I would say "yes" again!!!!
What do you do apart from being a Eurovision Fan?
Oh I think there is no day without Eurovision in my life!!!!!!

How did your club find your representative?
The Austrian representative was chosen because of winning the Austrian Cover Contest “Nur ein Lied für Deutschland”. That was the name of last years edition. We had eight contestants competing against each other. Elisabeth was the winner and really convinced the crowd to vote for her that night.
Does your club bring a lot of supporters for your act?
Not sure yet. But we try to give our best.
What do you wish for your contestant?
Not being last in the contest! But Elisabeth is so full of energy. She will perform and people will love her.
Your club is in the race for winning FANvision, what’s outstanding about your club?
The Austrian club members are in general very young compared to some other international clubs. It might be because of Conchita’s victory in 2014. A lot of young people joined OGAE Austria since then. We regularly have fan events in Vienna with starguests or previews and Eurovision-Discos. The official Cover Contest “Nur ein Lied für Wien” is usually held in October. So, come to Vienna and get to know more about the city.
What’s your favourite Eurovision song of all time?
All kinds of everything - IRE 1970 - Dana / I know, quite old, but an outstanding classic with a lovely melody and an even better arrangement.
What do you appreciate in particular in a performance in FANvision ? What would you want to see on stage and what might convince you to give a high vote?
Singing in different languages is a big plus for me. English is a great language, but Eurovision is so much more than that. The ESC is still a treasure for European languages.
AND OF COURSE - one thing is always in my focus: The voice of a representative is the most important thing for me. It has to be either good from the technical point or has to have something special. In the second case the vocal technique is not so important.

Eurovision Weekend 2024
Im vergangenen Jahr gewannen Mirko Buljan und Maxima Love beim Eurovision Weekend in Prag den FANvision Contest mit dem Titel „My Way“ von Tone Sekelius für den Eurovision Club Germany e. V. Und so hatte der ECG in diesem Jahr die Ehre, das Eurovision Weekend zu veranstalten.
Nach Stuttgart im Jahr 2021 fiel dieses Mal die Wahl auf Hamburg als Veranstaltungsort.
Die Hamburger Clubmitglieder des Organisationsteams hatten als Location den Nochtspeicher in St. Pauli gewählt. Dies war eine sehr gute Entscheidung, wenngleich auch eine Klimaanlage sicher nicht geschadet hätte. Die über 200 ESC-Fans aus vielen europäischen Clubs kamen an den beiden Abenden ordentlich ins Schwitzen- aber natürlich vor allem bei der Eurovisions-Disco am Freitag- und Samstagabend.

Zuvor hatte es am Freitagnachmittag die Möglichkeit gegeben, die Plaza der Elbphilharmonie zu besuchen. Und am Samstagnachmittag hatte das Orga-Team eine zweistündige Hafenrundfahrt organisiert. Hier hatte unser Clubtreffenmoderator Bernd Ochs als DJ Ox'n-ryd eine überaus gelungene Premiere.

Abends startete dann der FANvision Contest mit einer Rekordteilnehmerzahl von 15. Leider konnte die italienische Bewerberin wegen der wetterbedingten Annullierung ihres Fluges nicht nach Hamburg kommen.

Die Auftritte der 15 Sängerinnen, Sänger und Gruppen hatten ein erstaunliches Niveau. Da fiel die Wahl überaus schwer. Letztlich gewann aber die Vertreterin Maltas, Martina Fenech mit „Rise Like a Phoenix“, sowohl das Juryvoting (alle Heads of Delegation der teilnehmenden Clubs) als auf das Voting des Publikums. So erhält der maltesische Club OGAE Malta zum zweiten Mal das Recht, das nächste Eurovision Weekend im Jahr 2025 zu organisieren.
Die Vertreter des Eurovision Club Germany, Verena und Florian erreichten als Call Me Survivor mit „We Will Rave“ einen sehr guten siebten Platz. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!

Als erster Stargast hatte die diesjährige polnische Vertreterin LUNA ihren Auftritt. Sie sang ihren ESC-Song „Tower“, ihre neue Single „Alive“ und dann noch den französischen Beitrag „Mon amour“.
Die größte Überraschung des Abends war sicherlich der Auftritt von Jendrik, dem deutschen ESC-Vertreter 2021. Er hatte extra für diesen Abend ein äußerst witziges und lebhaftes Programm zusammengestellt mit ESC-Titeln, die null Punkte bekommen haben. Das war eine wirkliche geniale Performance, die zu recht tosenden Beifall bekam.
Schließlich begeisterte dann Hera Björk in gewohnt charmanter und witziger Art und Weise mit ihrem Programm aus verschiedenen ESC-Titeln, garniert mit lustigen Kommentaren.
Sie ist wirklich eine Eurovision-Queen!
Der fantastische Abend klang schließlich aus mit der ESC-Disco, bis um 4 Uhr morgens dann die Pforten des Nochtspeichers schlossen.
Die Nacht war also relativ kurz für alle, die am Sonntagmorgen dann noch zum gemeinsamen Brunch in das Museumscafé in Altona kamen.
Auch Luna und Hera Björk gesellten sich dazu und wurden von DJ Douze Points und Maxima Love interviewt, ebenso wie die Siegerin Martina Fenech.
DJ Douze Points und Maxima Love hatten auch den Freitagabend und die Gala am Samstag moderiert. Es war ein weiteres Highlight, dieses Traumpaar zu erleben, wie sie sich gegenseitig die Bälle zuwarfen und sich perfekt ergänzten.
Das Eurovision Weekend in Hamburg war ein großartiges Erlebnis und für uns als veranstaltendem Club ein voller Erfolg.
Ein großer Dank gebührt dem gesamten Hamburger Organisationsteam, angeführt von Anja, Robert, Michi, Mirko, Marcel, Marcus, Tanja, Susanne und Jonathan sowie Frank und Salman.

Das ECG-Highlight des Jahres kündigt sich an!
Zum ECG-Clubtreffen 2024 laden wir alle ECG-Mitglieder
und alle anderen Eurovisionsfans herzlich ein.
Feiert mit uns am 23. November 2024 im Kölner GLORIA-Theater!
(Programmbeginn 17.30 Uhr, Einlass voraussichtlich ab 16.00 Uhr)

Neben den Auftritten der Stargäste gibt es wieder eigene Programmbeiträge.
Nach Ende des Bühnenprogramms wird unser DJ Ohrmeister wieder bei der ESC-Disco auflegen.
MODERATION:
Bereits zum sechsten Mal wird unser Mitglied Bernd Ochs durch das Programm führen, gewohnt witzig und sachkundig.

Nicht-Mitglieder: 49,- Euro
Es wird voraussichtlich keine Tages-/Abendkasse geben!

We would like to kindly invite all Eurovision fans to our Annual Club Convention
at the GLORIA-Theater in Cologne.
It will take place on November 23rd 2024.
So far we have invited the following star guests:

After the end of the stage program, our DJ Ohrmeister will be back at the ESC disco.
RAFFLE
In our traditional raffle the main prize will be 500 euros.
When registering, please indicate whether you would like a raffle ticket at a price of EUR 5.
HOST:
Our club member Bernd Ochs will be the host for the sixth time
and will guide us through the program with his usual humor and knowledge.

There will probably be no day/evening box office!

Das Clubtreffen 2023
Am 25. November 2023 fand in Köln das alljährliche Clubtreffen des Eurovision Club Germany e. V. statt. Über 300 Gäste erlebten ein tolles und abwechslungsreiches Programm mit den Stargästen Niamh Kavanagh, Lindsay Dracass und Teya & Salena und unseren eigenen Programmbeiträgen.
Kermit würde sagen: Applaus, Applaus, Applaus !!!!
Das sage ich auch: Applaus und Riesenlob an das ECG-Team für den gelungenen Club-Abend im GLORIA-Theater, mein zweites Clubtreffen, aber sicher nicht das letzte...
Nicht nur die einzelnen Auftritte, sondern auch und vor allem die tolle Stimmung im Publikum, die kreativen Einlagen des ECG-Teams, die Moderation von Clubmitglied Bernd Ochs, bis hin zur gesamten Organisation und der mitreißenden Atmosphäre allgemein waren einfach großartig!
Dieses Mal waren mit über 300 Fans wieder deutlich mehr gekommen als in den letzten beiden Jahren, als Corona noch eine größere Rolle spielte.
Gleich zu Anfang gab es das erste Highlight, die Wahnsinns-Eröffnung des ECG-Präsidiums mit einem Songmedley von fünf ESC-Stars dieses Jahrgangs: La Zarra (Chris), Loreen (Elvira), Let 3 (Michael) und Gustaph (Erwin) sowie schließlich Käärijä (Benni). Zu „Cha Cha Cha“ gab es eine allerdings nur fast originalgetreue Interpretation der bekannten „Raupe“. Der Saal tobte!

Im weiteren Verlauf wurden Mirko und Maxima Love für ihren Sieg beim FANvision Song Contest 2023 in Prag gefeiert. Der ECG hat damit die Aufgabe, das nächste Eurovision Weekend auszurichten. Die offizielle Verkündung von Gastgeberstadt und Datum oblag dem Organisationsteam: Es ist Hamburg geworden und das Wochenende vom 12. bis 14. Juli 2024.

Es gab ein Gespräch mit den Verantwortlichen für den ESC in Deutschland vom NDR/HR, Alexandra Wolfslast und Stefan Leidner. An Neuem erfuhr man lediglich, dass momentan von fast 700 eingereichten Titeln noch 32 zur Wahl stehen, die nun von einer internationalen Jury bewertet werden. Es seien auch einige deutschsprachige Songs dabei.

Nach einem bewegenden Video-Rückblick auf die in diesem Jahr verstorbenen ESC-Künstler*innen brachte das Trio „Call Me Survivor“ (Verena, Florian, Ansgar) drei Lieder in Erinnerung, die trotz des Sieges bei einer deutschen Vorentscheidung nicht zum ESC fahren durften ("Der Star" 1976, "Planet of Blue" 1996 und "Hör den Kindern einfach zu" 1999).

Als Abschluss des ersten Programmteils präsentierten Peter, Lu und Michael unter dem Titel „Szenen einer Ehe“ eine lustige Geschichte, in der die Ehefrau unbedingt Tanzen gehen wollte, der Mann aber lieber Fußball schaute, unterlegt mit zahlreichen passenden ESC- und Vorentscheidungssongs. Wer hätte gedacht, dass sich „Cha Cha Cha“ perfekt zum Bügeln eignet...?

Die beiden eröffneten auch den zweiten Programmteil nach der Abendessenpause. Zum zweiten Mal kamen sie als Putzfrauen auf die Bühne. Dieses Mal kümmerten sie sich zur Musik von „Ai coração“ um eine verstopfte Toilette. Das Publikum war begeistert.

Als erster ESC-Gaststar verzauberte Lindsay Dracass aus Großbritannien (ESC 2001), damals Teenager, heute eine tolle Frau Ende 30 mit einer fantastischen Stimme und Präsenz. Sie hätte gern noch länger singen dürfen. Ein besonderes Highlight, das vom Publikum entsprechend gefeiert wurde, war ihr Duett von „Love Shine a Light“ mit Niamh Kavanagh.

Zum Glück gab es wieder das gefeierte Märchen-Musical, diesmal „Frau Holle“, stark gespielt von Peter (Goldmarie), Lu (Pechmarie) und Michael (Frau Holle) mit großer Kreativität und Liebe zum Detail, inklusive mehrerer blitzschneller Kleiderwechsel, einem Backofen, einem Apfelbaum und einem Gold und Pech speienden Regenbogen. DIe Handlung wurde wie gewohnt mit zahlreichen ESC-Songs unterlegt.

Die zweite Künstlerin des Abends, Niamh Kavanagh aus Irland (ESC-Siegerin 1993 und Finalistin 2010), hatte wohl leider nicht ihren besten Tag. War der Soundcheck noch sehr gut gewesen, konnte sie abends stimmlich nicht überzeugen, was ihr selbst am meisten leidtat. Ob sich da eine Erkältung anbahnte? Das Publikum feierte sie trotzdem begeistert. Zwischen den Liedern plauderte sie lang über ihre ESC-Erlebnisse, und man erlebte sie als sehr nahbare Künstlerin ohne Allüren.

Aber der dritte Act, die beiden coolen Mädels Teya und Salena aus Österreich (ESC 2023), brachten mit „Who the Hell is Edgar?“ und anderen ESC-Songs Stimmung in den Saal. Dann schockten sie zu guter Letzt noch das Publikum mit der Eröffnung, dass sie sich musikalisch getrennt hätten und nun Solokarrieren anstreben würden. Trotzdem wünsche ich ihnen natürlich für ihre Solokarrieren alles Gute und viel Glück.

Mit der alljährlichen ESC-Disco (oder heißt es jetzt Club?) mit DJ Ohrmeister wurde das Abendprogramm beschlossen, die Tanzfläche war fast immer voll und zum Glück konnte man auch zu „Cha Cha Cha“ abhotten.
Und mein persönliches Rausschmeißer-Lied war dann „Hallo Adam, hallo Eva“ der gleichnamigen Sänger. Da wusste ich, dass es Zeit ist zu gehen. Es war ja auch schon 2 Uhr, für mich schon ziemlich spät. Die Hardcore-Disco-Fans tanzten noch bis 3 Uhr weiter.
Ich aber verließ das Clubtreffen mit schmerzenden Füßen und hundemüde, aber schwer begeistert, leicht angeheitert, voller neuer Eindrücke und großer Vorfreude aufs nächste Mal am 23. November 2024.

Annual convention 2022
We would like to kindly invite all Eurovision fans to our Annual Club Convention in 2022 on November 19th at the GLORIA-Theater in Cologne.
In order to minimize the risk of possible infection with the corona virus at our club meeting, we have decided, out of consideration for all visitors, to request the submission of a negative rapid test from a certified test center (maximum 36 hours old). This will be checked upon entry into the GLORIA. We apologize for any inconvenience!

SELMA & FRIÐRIK ÓMARAt ESC 2019, Selma and Friðrik performed as a duo in the Euro Fan Café. The two delighted the fans with a rousing ESC program. We are therefore particularly looking forward to their joint appearance.

CHIARAWith "The One That I Love" (1998, 3rd place) and "Angel" (2005, 2nd place), Chiara scratched the first ESC victory for Malta twice. We are happy to finally welcome the powerful-voiced ballad queen to our GLORIA.

Bernd has been a member of the ECG since the association was founded and, together with Stefan Leidner from the OGAE, made the Frankfurt regional meeting one of the largest local ESC meetings in Germany. There he moderates the previews, each with over 100 guests, as well as the "Grand Prix sur le Main", an internal Frankfurt competition.

ATTENTION: Registration by email is absolutely necessary, the transfer should only take place after you have received a confirmation email, otherwise we cannot assign the transfer correctly!
No tickets will be sent, but will be checked at the entrance using the registration list.
There will be a raffle: Main prize: €500 plus option to purchase a ticket package for ESC 2023.
Second and third prize: Two tickets each for the German preselection 2023 (if there is a prelselection!)

The booking is binding, a refund is only possible in exceptional cases (e.g. fresh corona infection). Depending on the rush, we will remove guests from the registration list who have not paid within 3 weeks of registration!

How to find the location: From the Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) please take the underground, direction “Neumarkt”. Then look out for the large church and pass it on the right. The second street on the right is “Apostelnstraße”. The theatre is on the left side of the street.
